The Battle of the Macronators!!

West Ham United v Aston Villa I think both sides will be happy with this start. For the 'appy 'ammers, they see the Villa of last year and think, poor defence, weak midfield and under performing attacking players (N'Zogbia and Ireland). Villa will see a newly promoted side, who have come through the playoffs. So should be slightly more straight forward then a Southampton or Reading first game. However, Villa will be a much changed side from last year. New manager, much more optimistic vibe about the place and a likely completely different side to the one that ended last season. West Ham will be a harder proposition then some people think. They will be at home, first game back in the 'big time'. The last time Villa played a newly promoted team on their first home game back, Andy Carroll put them to the sword. This game is hard to call. We won't know what the teams are likely to be until the transfer window gets going after the Euros. My heart says a rejuvenated AVFC will sneak it, but my head says an exciting 2-2 draw. UTV
